Air pollution is a major health hazard, and also has a strong influence on the weather and the climate. In Sub-Saharan Africa, emissions of air pollutants are changing rapidly, but we know little about how these trends will evolve. This also means we don't know how precipitation patterns, extreme weather, and health will be affected in the future. In this session researchers from CICERO will present new scenarios for future air pollution, and their health impacts, and we will have a presentation on social and environmental determinants of health by WHO Africa Region. In the end we will have a panel discussion including civil society.
